Acid Mothers Temple - Does The Cosmic Shepherd Dream of Electric Tapirs?

Music post. Listened to this band here and there over the years. Lots of splits with other Japanese groups and variations of their name. I guess this album is named after P.K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? I highly recommend the book.

This band (and this album) are bizarre. This album was released in 2004 and the band is called "Acid Mothers Temple & the Melting Paraiso U.F.O.'s". I've read about and it's a great entry-level album and introduction to one of their finest albums. Lots of diverse sound, hard-rock psychedelic mentalism, chillout trippy tunes with the band exploring all over the place, yet somehow being accessible.

Tried to define a few of the tracks as I went through them. Got a few quiet (compared to the rest of the album) folky space tunes, cat noises, gargling, juggling about on guitars, yet the outcome is a great composition.

Once that gets a bit stale, you'll find heavy psychedelic riffs that again don't get tiresome because a theme is present, yet always transforming through the album, and songs themselves.

Multi-layered mushroom music that stands as a recognisable feat. Try it, you may just love the band. Dunno what the cover is about; obligatory to have tits though
